Construction will soon be commencing on a medium density development on the site of the temporary open space off Webber Loop near the second display village.
With the site’s proximity to the town centre, this site was from the beginning earmarked for medium density housing, however it was temporarily established as interim spillover and playspace for the second display village which opened in 2016, with the intention to maintain it for the use of the second display village whilst it was operational.
With the second display village now winding up and construction starting soon on a new Homeworld display village, we will shortly be commencing construction on a medium density development on the site in line with the original intention for this parcel of land.
Construction on the medium density development will take place at the southern end of the site which will see a series of 11 high quality semi-detached, small lot, rear loaded dwellings built by Everyday Homes.
The northern end of the site, near Peter Brock Drive, has been zoned special purposes and has been set aside to assist with construction of the metro line, therefore in the interim will remain temporary open space.
As a result of this construction work, the site will be fenced off and secured for safety reasons. A section of the northern end of the site will also be temporarily fenced off to allow for landscaping works to be carried out including a new path.
The construction of the terrace homes and land development works will take approximately 12-15 months.
Whilst this work is carried out, there may be some minor disruptions, however we expect this to be minimal.
Residents can continue to enjoy neighbouring parks including Bridge Park which is located just over 100m away from the site. Bridge Park includes a fully enclosed toddler playground as well as a covered picnic area.
