We provide this update on the Oran Park Drive and Harrington Parkway intersection upgrade.
Construction certificate approvals from Camden Council and traffic signal approvals from the RMS have been received and construction has commenced with the appointed contractor TRN Group. Works to date have been contained to the verge and footpath areas with service adjustments and road works for the future Banfield Drive connection.
Construction will commence in October on the Oran Park Drive carriageway in preparation for the new traffic signals. We expect there will be some delays and changes to traffic movements on Oran Park Drive for the construction period which is expected to be from October 2019 until early 2020, however traffic management will be in place throughout the duration of works to keep disruption to a minimum.
In addition to these works, Camden Council will also be undertaking road rectification and upgrade works along Oran Park Drive during the intersection upgrade works, but these will be coordinated within the works program.
It is expected that the intersection will be operational early 2020 once civil works are complete and traffic signals are commissioned. These works will provide a much-needed additional connection onto Oran Park Drive for Oran Park South residents and greatly improve traffic flow in the area.
